Each pedal body is precision 3D CNC machined from a solid billet of 6061-T651 aluminum, allowing optimized material placement for maximum stiffness, impact resistance, and weight reduction. Unlike extruded pedal bodies, billet machining provides complete control over every surface, resulting in a stronger, more refined structure. The engineered concave platform naturally centers your foot for improved grip, stability, and control.
Machined from medical implant-grade F136 Grade 23 titanium, each spindle is heat treated and aged to approximately 170,000 psi tensile strength. Compared to standard Grade 5 titanium, Grade 23 offers significantly greater ductility and fracture toughness while providing excellent fatigue life and an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.
For riders seeking maximum strength, an optional Maraging 350 steel spindle is available. Heat treated to approximately 350,000 psi tensile strength, it delivers extraordinary impact resistance, fatigue life, and stiffness while maintaining excellent fracture toughness.
Both spindle options are black nitrided to approximately 70 HRC, creating an extremely wear-resistant surface that dramatically increases bearing journal life while preserving the toughness of the core material.
Unlike conventional pedals that rely on deep-groove bearings, RNCBMX pedals utilize dual-row sealed angular contact bearings. Designed to support both radial and axial loads simultaneously, they provide greater rigidity, smoother operation under heavy impacts, improved resistance to side loading, and significantly longer bearing life.
